Part vehicle, part freak of nature, monster trucks are a technological wonder. Their purpose – to crush cars and dazzle audiences. The creator of the sport, Bob Chandler, explains how it all started and takes you on a behind the scenes look at the creation of Bigfoot 16, one of the most cutting-edge trucks of all time- from welding the chassis to dropping in a fuel-injected racing engine. Throughout the past 30 years of monster truck mania, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. We’ll see some of the most riveting and death-defying crashes of all time, hear about them from the drivers who survived them, and explore the safety innovations that have made monster truck racing one of the safest motor sports. Then we’ll watch Bigfoot 16 test its mettle against the top trucks in the US at the Monster Truck Racing Finals. Will they take top prize or head to the shop to lick wounds? Closed Captioned Released 2016 Duplication, Digital and HD ITV rights available
